Age Wise Care Management grew out of Melissa's own experience caring for elderly family members, both locally and over distances, while raising her own children. She recalls vividly pushing a wheelchair with her mother-in-law to an appointment, Melissa's two-year-old daughter on her lap.

Out of this direct, personal experience came a keen awareness of the logistical and emotional difficulties in supporting loved ones. Also came Melissa's vision for helping others find the best quality of care possible, and in negotiating among family members, professionals, and the many agencies involved in elderly caregiving. 	Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and is a Nationally Certified Case Manager and Rehabilitation Counselor with specialized training in Geriatric Care. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

	Dr. Gingold is a psychologist and gerontologist. He is also Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Family Medicine Research and Aging Services at the University of Illinois.

Age Wise Care Management strongly believes that continuing education is an essential part of risk management and vital to offering the best service to their clientele. It is with this belief that Age Wise works closely with the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois to stay current with topics relative to the well-being of clients and caregivers, institutional policies and procedures, and up-to-date information regarding geriatric care issues affecting older adults and their significant others. Melissa Cronin is also involved with the Continuing Educaion Institute as a frequent participant and a faculty/presentor.
